Light breaks water

An enlightened breath.

I look at light sparkle in a newborn's sky blue eyes,

then suddenly, I feel my spirits rise.

In the watery depths I see reflected,

some aspects of life, that are often neglected.

*

Light energy, packaged in photons, leaves the sun at a constant velocity.

Waves spiral as particles spin. Light becomes Earth’s precious commodity.

Light, going 94 million miles in 8 minutes, creates an electromagnetic field.

Waves and particles interact, and transform, revealing what is concealed.

**

Directed by gravity, light meets the blue planet's H2O,

brought by meteorites in the present, and times long ago.

Water, holds recycled material from a far-away past.

Hydrogen and oxygen unite, making solid, liquid and gas.

*

Water an anomalous substance, follows the path of least resistance.

It can separate and reform in and out of existence.

The Earth, and each human hold water in the pneuma, a breath,

that carries a spirit that fills and empties and remains long after death.

*

Light dances, forming diamonds, that shift upon water's surface plane.

When light breaks water a veil separates over a mysterious domain.

Diamonds stack and transform into the unknown, an X, the holy grail,

that carries nectars of immortality and poisons of disillusionment, the difference is frail.

Eyes let light break water. The energy penetrates aquatic tunnels within.

Crystals of the third eye resonate, then spark, causing a divine fire to begin.

This awakens mankind, who remembers to love, protect and guard

gifts from the cosmos, that are so easy to assume, ignore and disregard.

My stories usually present facts, supported by science as we know it, that are often spoken of in myths. Both can help survival in an ever-changing world.

I really appreciate how you infused science/physics throughout your poem. And the rhymes were clever and well placed. Great entry, Katherine!
