I may be browned skin, but I am British
I have a tale to tell but not to finish
I am the girl who has always survived
In all honesty I'm shocked I'm still alive
No matter what life throws my way
I know I can turn it around but sometimes stray
I was the girl who was bullied at school
But if you look at me now I'm no fool
There are nasty people in life wherever you go
That used to make me cry and leave me low
I've met lots of people from all over the world
Who have stayed in my life like glistening pearls
For my family I have to be strong
For them I will take on the world one by one
They fill me with happiness, they fill me with joy
This beautiful young lady and my handsome young boy
And then came along two gorgeous princesses
That my beautiful girl puts in matching dresses
No matter what life throws your way
Always remember your're going to have a better day
People will always come and go
the real ones stay and you will know
What a special person you can be
one of gratitude and lots of humility
So reach for the stars and follow your dream
because nothing in life is as bad as it seems
There's something for everyone just don't give up
just do what you do and see how high you can jump
believe in me if you're filled with doubt
just listen now and hear me shout
A huge thank you to all my family and friends
because without them i wouldn't have made it to the end
but that's not quite happened yet
There's lots to do and see I'm going to bet
No matter what bad things happen in your life
Those that love you will help you to strive
My story has still got far to go
and believe me now there are things i will never know
but that's ok because life is all about
learning how to feel inside not out
And be yourself in all the right places
You don't have to wear lots of different faces
Have fun with the ones you hold dear and love
because soon my queen you will soar like a dove

I have recently discovered writing and the enjoyment it gives me to release a lot of good and bad memories. Growing up was tough and to put all that in words gives great freedom.
