Life’s perilous beauty

Don’t let the stench of fear paralyze your chance of doing,

let your force ignite an appetite—kindle within yourself a sense of might.

Don’t listen to the bells that toll, death is ringing at your door—

Rise, for life is beckoning even more.

Don’t just brush the bold hand of change,

clasp it firm—each finger threaded with the stench of what you stand to gain.

Don’t taste the bitter notes of injustice,

swallow your pride and your pity—better flavors await that are less gritty.

Don’t just look upon your uncertain future with wavering and glassy eyes,

seek—for only enlightenment can wash away thoughts so bleak
