That feeling you get
after surfing through pain.
Remembering all smiles
forced to feign.

Weaving through tapestries
sewn on tears.
Soaking the threads
till melting dares.

The eyes of those
who have battled wars.
They are no longer viewers
But open pores.

Peering through blood,
squinting to see.
Because what was will
build what will be.

Holding on to the
lessons taught.
From all that endured
and all turned to naught.

From every memory
a moral is said
with the pride of one
who held his head.

For every moment
can write a sheet
of the beauty of running
on broken feet.
