Life's Lessons

Running on broken feet

That feeling you get

after surfing through pain.

Remembering all smiles

forced to feign.

-

Weaving through tapestries

sewn on tears.

Soaking the threads

till melting dares.

-

The eyes of those

who have battled wars.

They are no longer viewers

But open pores.

-

Peering through blood,

squinting to see.

Because what was will

build what will be.

-

Holding on to the

lessons taught.

From all that endured

and all turned to naught.

-

From every memory

a moral is said

with the pride of one

who held his head.

-

For every moment

can write a sheet

of the beauty of running

on broken feet.
