Life in Your Hands
Breaking news is what we’re expecting,
Concerning our lives, our opinions creating.
But what is it that we really hear,
That causes us to shake with heartfelt fear.
Is it that time itself is growing short,
And we can’t seem to find a true report?
For if we think that things last forever,
We’ve become swallowed up in useless chatter.
We’re given a lifetime to find the answer,
But many are deceived and say it doesn’t matter.
Nonetheless, the call has gone out,
To make your peace, not to sit and pout.
For it’s by faith we gaze into our tomorrows,
Knowing full well that it may contain many sorrows.
And should we be overtaken by life’s trials,
We must dig deeper for the grace to reconcile.
Once the journey has been completed,
And the foes we feared have all been defeated,
In that moment of crystal clarity,
May each of us accept mercy’s generosity.
