LIFE JOURNEY

The Journey

One day you may realize

what you want to pursue, and begin,

although the voices around you

may offer

their well-meaning but unsolicited advice--

although your whole world

may seem to shake

and you feel the old pull

of familiar but limiting beliefs.

"Change your life!"

each voice may urge.

But you don't stop.

You know what you must do,

although the wind may blow

with its insistent force

at the very foundations,

although uncertainty

may feel overwhelming.

It may be already late

in the day,

and the path may be full

of obstacles and unknowns.

But little by little,

as you leave those voices behind,

the stars begin to appear

through the clouds,

and there is a new voice

that you slowly

recognize as your own,

that keeps you company

as you venture deeper and deeper

into the unknown,

determined to do

the only thing you can do--

determined to create

the only life you can create.
