Life is My Pallet

My Colorful Soul

By Robin TobinPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Smile when you feel like crying!

Colors of the rainbow, that is who I have become today.

Life has become my pallet, collecting colors along the way.

My heart is now a prism, radiating and ever changing.

Seeking to find, the rhyming line, from my words I feel estranged.

My soul moves through shades of red, since my husband passed away,

How I cried so many sleepless nights, I begged and how I prayed,

to join him there in heaven and be together, forever, we would stay.

Green now keeps me grounded, inspires me to write,

fills me with adventure, to seek the spirits of the night.

Yellow brightens my spirit, makes me want to share,

the secrets of tomorrow, the purpose of my stare.

Blue is for my pride, which is growing leaps and bounds,

as I complete my Master's degree and enter fertile ground.

Purple brings me loads of joy, in everything I do,

enjoying my family and friends, my priority in all things great and true.

Orange is my frustration, in work and sometimes play,

not knowing where I stand, not steering my own ship along the way.

So, I return to my green haven and take in a very deep breath,

to find solace in my words, the words that calm me with each and every

step.
