Life Is Constant, And The Heart is The Author | Reflection I

A quiet moment to remember that life doesn't change, only how we see It does.

By Lenn MarcusPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

A gentle reminder to self.

Life is constant.

When it feels unfair,

it’s only your emotions blurring the image.

Life is a straight line…

and our emotions, the strings.

A blank white page,

painted with colorful feelings.

Remember that.

Take a moment.

Pause.

Think.

Find that thread of color,

and let the heart carry it.

Then you’ll understand:

Life is content,

and our hearts are the author,

painting the picture through emotion.

Author’s Note:

Sometimes we forget that the world isn’t cruel or kind — it just is.

It’s our hearts that give it shape and color.

A gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and see again with softer eyes.

Your words flow with a gentle wisdom that invites stillness, reminding the reader that life isn’t something to conquer or judge, but to feel. The imagery of life as a straight line and emotions as the strings is deeply evocative — it captures that delicate tension between constancy and chaos, between what is and what we feel. I especially love how you describe emotions as the colors that paint the blank white page of existence. It’s such a graceful way of expressing how our inner world shapes the outer one. The “thread of color” metaphor carries both tenderness and strength — an encouragement to not suppress emotion, but to trace it back to understanding. Your author’s note beautifully ties it all together — the idea that the world simply exists, and it’s our hearts that give it meaning, feels both grounding and liberating. This piece reads like a moment of meditation — a reminder to breathe, to soften, and to see with new eyes. Truly, Pen Drop feels like the perfect signature — quiet, thoughtful, and profound in its simplicity.

We don’t see the world for what it is, we create it in our likeness. Pleased to read a fellow poet philosopher. Loved your poem!

Beautiful poems...I love the thought that nothing changes...just how we see it.
