Life in Poetry Series

It is not who you are bound to that becomes

who you trust. It is who you can open up to

and be yourself around. It is who you can have

timeless and effortless conversations with. It

is who will not punish you for being yourself. It

is who looks at your flaws and awkward behaviors

and says, “let’s be friends!” Those are the people

that you want to be around. They can fill your spirits

when your drained, make you feel safe when your

scared, and you can trust them with your deepest secrets

and desires. Most of all though, you know that you will

not be judged. At the end of the day, we want to be

around those who fill our buckets and let us be ourselves
