What is beauty, my sweet lady fair?
Does it matter in the end?
Do you really care?
I come to revel in your sweetness,
Take you by the hand,
To travel this fine world,
Let me show you how to stand.
Not much have I to offer,
Yet so many things to say.
I'll love you more tomorrow,
Even more than yesterday!
In the mornings when you wake,
In the nights when you're asleep.
I will hold you in my arms,
As we share in kisses deep.
I've been here from the beginning,
I will be there at the end.
I will hold your hand forever,
An eternity will I spend.
It was never about your looks,
It was never about your eyes,
It was always, my sweet lover,
How you said such sweet goodbyes!
