Thinking about the past

I got the first kiss and she'll get the last

She's got the future, I got the past

I got the class ring, she got the diamond and wedding band

I got the boy, she got the man

-I Got the Boy, Jana Kramer

You were my first love

I think of you often

I'm not the same girl I was back then

Life has changed me.

But every time I see you

My heart still skips a beat

I wonder 'what-if'

But life has changed me.

I wonder how you've changed

I wonder about the man you've grown into

We still smile and laugh when we talk

But life has changed me.

Do you wish things were different?

Are you still happy in your marriage?

Do you ever think about me?

Life has changed me.

I wonder how our lives would have turned out

Had we stayed together

I think about it often, in fact;

Would life have changed me?

I love your poem based upon h many times we wonder about our former loves. I know. I know I have done the same far too often. Lovely bit of poetry.
