I want to stay and trust
I yearn for second breath
that one you gave me when you said
this is home now,
ours to be and glow
and have.
***
Why do walls change
and where do memories run
to play evermore?
Seeking a new tomorrow
brought only darkness
and the shade,
I know not where to fly,
or go,
or wander.
***
A forest grows outside my window
the trees were far
when I looked yesterday
branches almost touch sill today,
another second,
an instant more
and they'll be knocking on the sill,
chanting
or dwelling
inside another's
heart.
***
What will happen when mirror
loses all sense of time,
when faces look old,
young again
when ages come to rest,
again
in the same place,
same heart,
all else changed
beyond recognition
or forgiveness?
***
Will you look back,
belong again,
can we make this place happy
with our laughter,
play hide-and-seek with flowers
loving each butterfly
in turn?
***
Wishes unfold,
hoping for twilight
before night settles in,
let's leave regrets outside
melted in smiles
that perch on shoulder,
ready to share our dreams,
the ones that stay,
and love
this minute,
on this breath
locked in glowing today.
***
Where is the soul that's kindred
to my own,
where is the gaze
I've searched for
in starlight?
***
Moon beckons one more time,
this lifetime
will go on
in hope,
in peace,
grace of our own,
making a happy home.
***
Belong with me today,
tomorrow is but feather
in heart abyss
of ever-lasting morning
sunset.
