I'm always a letdown

So its no wonder I always frown

What is this mysterious feat

I will have to complete

To gain good grace

With the ones I have to face

I fear I may never know

Which makes it hard to grow

Will I always be this bitter?

Is something I constantly consider

I don't know if things will get better

I've never been a real go-getter

You can't discount what I'm feeling

Because its the real thing

It might be fate

That I shoulder all this hate

But against those whose knowledge continues to grow

I cannot claim to know

If that be the case

Then why does everything feel like a race?
