Let's Be True to Self

Just like they say

a vampire can’t tolerate garlic

and runs away —

I strive to make myself

so true to who I am,

driven by ikigai,

that shallowness and

hypocrisy of the world

won’t invade the

periphery of my life.

You know, Satan is just a story,

the true devil is our own mind.

If we loosen our guard,

it will capture and taint us.

If we entertain bad company

to avoid loneliness,

to feel important,

we’re digging our own ditch.

Let's be aware of these pitfalls

as we walk the path of life.

Let's listen to our conscience,

and be true to self.
