Be that girl,
who is enchanted by..
folding of mimosa leaves
an oriole on an agave bloom,
a hummingbird on a pine top,
a honeybee on an encelia,
foggy, surreal mornings,
cascades of callery pear blossoms.

Be that girl,
who is delighted by..
the crackling log in a fireplace.
by the sepia sunset,
a distant island in the ocean,
the silhouette of lanky palms.
by distant blue hills
and autumnal oaks.
the tadpole-full pond,
the rainbow after the drizzles,
the pelting of hailstones.

Melancholy will not bother you —
at least not for long.
For in the next glance,
nature's spectacles
will cheer you.
