Let Me Go To Shanghai

Traveling poem

By Chloe GilholyPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
The picture I took is actually a photo of Yokohama, Japan.

Let me go to Shanghai, and on all the elevators.

Eating soup with fungi, and the eyes of alligators.

I don’t know what I’m drinking, but I’m sprinting through red and gold.

What the hell was I thinking? I’ve woke up in the bitter cold.

I don’t understand the signs, but they excite me.

I want to understand the whispers in the corners.

Dance in the dragon smoke, and not having to choke…

Finding temples to climb, is this reality?

Ancient traditions are still relevant as adverts come and go.

A thousand solutions to a million problems I didn’t know I had.
