Lessons From the Desert

Verse 1
I walked where the sand forgets the rain
Where the sun writes stories in every grain
No waves to lull, no tides to pull
Just the hush of heat and a sky so full
Verse 2
The ocean sings in endless blue
But the desert whispers what’s truly true
It taught me thirst, it taught me grace
How to honor every drop I taste
Chorus
The desert teaches more about water
Than the ocean ever could
It makes you wait, it makes you wonder
It makes you treat it like you should
No abundance, no illusion
Just the sacred, slow pursuit
The desert teaches more about water
Than the ocean ever could
Verse 3
I found a well beneath a stone
Not deep, not wide, but it felt like home
And I drank like it was holy wine
Each sip a prayer, each breath divine
Bridge
The ocean gives without a thought
But the desert asks what you’ve forgot
To listen close, to walk with care
To find the gift that isn’t there
Final Chorus
The desert teaches more about water
Than the ocean ever could
It makes you kneel, it makes you honor
Every ripple, every flood
No abundance, no illusion
Just the sacred, slow pursuit
The desert teaches more about water
Than the ocean ever could
