Lessons from History
Should They be Forgotten?

Long lost stories and sorrows that time forgot,
Buried in either sand or rock.
Buried in soil or marsh,
Either pristine or time was cruel and harsh.
Stories told from what was behind.
Homes, tools, and anything fine.
Tombs and graves galore,
All exposed within, full of stories in store.
What can be restored and what can be laid to rest?
Can curiosity override beliefs so sacred,
Or should beliefs override curiosity?
Can a compromise occur science and religion,
Of mind or beliefs, to hearts, is sacred?
What stories will be told?
What lessons will be learned?
Will repetition of history occur,
Or can the future be changed with the knowledge learned?
Or will it all be for naught,
Within the stories and sorrows that time forgot?
