LESSON LEARNED

Parking by the lake on a hot summers night

Hoping this time you wouldn’t put up a fight

You swore you would never leave me alone

That night you gave your all to me

Said this is the way it’s suppose to be

But you left me standing on my own

(CHORUS)

Lesson learned about this thing called love

Lesson learned they say it comes in on the wings of a dove

Lesson learned about this thing called romance

Lesson learned I guess we had our last dance

High school dance and you were looking so hot

Decided that I would give it one more shot

But you just smiled as you turned and walked away

You treated me so unkind

I decided to drink you off my mind

I never want to remember that day

(CHORUS)

Lesson learned about this thing called love

Lesson learned they say it comes in on the wings of a dove

Lesson learned about this thing called romance

Lesson learned I guess we had our last dance

Years have gone by and you are in my past

Even though you said our love would always last

But we were young and didn’t think it through

Still think about you ever once in a while

Somehow I can still manage a smile

I guess I will always remember you

(CHORUS)
