Lemons and Friends
a poem | the difference between "friends" and friends
By Alexandria StanwyckPublished about a year ago • 1 min read
I became a lemon in your hand
squeezing me dry for your enjoyment,
then you threw out my remains.
letting me rot in misery.
Until someone real, someone true
came along and planted me in the ground,
watering me and helping me grow
into a strong tree with a bounty of fruits to share.
