Left With Nothing New

It must be sad, depressing and incredibly exhausting to continually put on a smile while everyone is watching. Im not sure how you can manage to put on that brave face, when afterwards all you feel is disgrace.

You tell yourself this is a skill to be proud of, so you’ve settled for nothing else, and now you cant find love.

You pretend that its everything you’ve ever wanted but in the back of your mind, your constantly taunted.

Deep d own somewhere you still hold those dreams, the ones where you make it, and your doing it clean.

Right now dreams can’t pay the bills and it’s likely not to change, so you continue to do the only thing you know and pretend it's just a game.

A game it may be but you play it so well, I would ask how you manage but I know you'll never tell.

You say that other girl is just lost and she don’t know what to do, tears fill my eyes because we both know she is you.

So you find yourself in the arms of lovers incapable of loving you, you accept it for what it is, play your next role, and pretend it's nothing new .
