He typed a message, then erased it.
Typed again. Deleted.
The screen glowed in the dark,
but no reply ever came.
Her last words still sat there,
short, simple- "Take care."
Not angry, not pleading.
Just...final.
He scrolled up, reading old laughs,
midnight confessions,silly dreams.
Fingers hovered over her name,
but calling felt useless now.
Outside, the city moved on.
Inside, silence stretched wide.
He shut his phone,
placed it face-down,
as if that could hide
the empty space she left behind.
And somewhere, in another room,
her phone sat still,
the battery long dead,
just like the love that once lived there.

So well-written that I could feel the pain of heartbreak in between the lines. Thank you for sharing this~
