Leave me alone…
I never understood those words
Until today
Before
I thought they meant
‘Go away’
Maybe
‘Not right now’
I had never really
Stopped to think
About their meaning
However…
When the world ripped me open
Leaving me in so much pain
I could barely stand or speak
And when someone came by
Saw what had happened
They asked
And my lips quavered
As my tongue recoiled
And the taste of sour
Pervaded my mouth
Then, barely more than a whisper
Those words escaped my throat
And I finally understood them
For what they are
“Leave me alone”
Meaning
By myself to understand
What is happening to me
Alone

The Dolphins Came to Say Hello
Dolphins passing by A wonderful view to see Peace and harmony. [Author's note: I was on a roll this morning with impromptu Haikus. Frost my Red rose and then, as I sat on the balcony having my cup of tea with my two little buddies, a small school of dolphins came passing by. They chase the herring which are running at the moment.]
