“Leap”
I feel the walls of my past collapse and pile up,
Heavy are my boots bound upon my feet.
Nothing like these burdens that heap beneath.
Barely able to breathe amongst rubble
Clouding, my eyes cannot see through it all.
So still, I climb, trying not to fall,
maybe I crawl before I lose it all.
At the top I don't wait
because I know it is your arms,
that hold me when I leap
or when I trip, even when I fall.
