A Moment of Silence Acrostic

By D. J. ReddallPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Squadrons of sound strafe sleek serenity

Innocence lost, every night

Listen, it makes you more interesting: coated in cacophony

Even if clear, smooth quiet is pulverized

Nostalgia for calm will do you no good

Cities never hold their tongues

Every note is played by the grumbling, exhausted orchestra of mind

"Squadrons of sound strafe sleek serenity...." and "coated in cacophony, even if clear..." This is an amazing poem. I really like the alliterative nature of the chosen words in many of the lines - it reads so beautifully.

"Smooth quiet is pulverized" - what a phrase! No, leave it alone!

Never thought of silence like that, has me thinking now.
