Latin Love

It's a very useful language

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read

I love Latin,

such a cerebral language,

so much life philosophy

and wisdom to absorb.

I got the first taste

while learning

binomial nomenclature

in biology class in college.

It was very tough,

I struggled, complained,

but learned, picking

word by word,

focusing on etymology.

As I poured effort,

I understood its importance.

I fell in love.

Hard work never goes waste,

and guess what?

It helped big time,

all medical jargon

became a cakewalk,

I thrived in bioscience.

I continue to love Latin.

I teach even my little ones:

carpe diem, tempus fugit,

amor fati, memento mori,

ad astra per aspera.

It’s a language to worth learning,

try it and derive benefits.

Note: Below my daughter is sharing some Latin phrases she knows.
