Last Time You Spoke

I Wrote us in Ink

By PSYGENIUSPublished 10 months ago 1 min read
But You Never Call

1. Nights that Burn

The moon feels too far,

sleep hides in some other world,

tonight lasts too long.

2. Shadows in Rain

Raindrops kiss my skin,

yet I feel your hands so warm,

a ghost in my arms.

3. Heart Left Open

No locks, no closed doors,

yet no one stays long enough,

to call this place home.

4. The Answerless call

Phone glows in the dark,

your name, a ghost on the screen,

but you never call.

5. The Unfinished Dream

I wrote us in ink,

but time smudged the pages fast,

leaving just your name.

6.The vanishing Light

Candlelight flickers,

just like the warmth in your voice,

fading into night.

7. Footprints in Time

You walked through my life,

but the footprints disappeared,

washed by silent tears.

8. The Last Goodbye

Wind whispers your name,

soft, like the last time you spoke,

then silence took you.

    Amazing poem! Fantastic 🍎😇

  • What I really admired was how the poem captures the tension between silence and speech, especially the tension of words left unsaid. It made me think about the conversations we carry with us and how they often linger long after they've ended. The imagery is haunting yet beautiful, and the emotional depth is something I strive to evoke in my own writing. I’d love to hear others' thoughts on how silence plays a role in their own memories and poetry. What emotions did this poem stir in you?
