Last One to Leave
Day 43/365

he lingers at the counter
closing time has played
the stars have been dancing for awhile
he pays his tab
with the tip of his hat
and always says good night with a smile
Same barstool, different night,
same drink under neon lights
he never says anything
sometimes he seems sad
sometimes I catch a laugh
and sometimes he’s spinning a ring
he’s the first one here, only orders one drink
and he’s always the last one to leave
