Last Night
Just Something I wrote Down In 5 Minutes
A withered man followed me home
With deafening silence
As if your head would cave in
His form – like altered penumbra
Sat heavily, on a brittle throne
Shattered subconscious
Groaning, writhing
Breaking bones
Tearing muscles
“Sit still, oh pale king”
Drinks merrily
Sleeps fitfully
Wishing for morning
But night was never-ending
The moon was frozen in place
So I built a fire to thaw the sky
What is that piercing pain?
Holes in my heart
Hearts that hate lie frozen
With love; burned
Like shy lovers
I
Nor any master of language
Can dare contain
In essence of nature
The word to truly describe
What I feel.

What a enthralling stream of consciousness! Well done! Congrats on being featured in Vocal's "Creators We're Loving!"
Whoaaaa, you wrote this in 5 minutes??? It was so poignant and profound! Loved it!
That’s a deep one! The imagery—especially the frozen moon and the idea of “holes in my heart” really brings the feeling to life. It's like you captured the weight of emotion without needing to say too much. Beautifully raw and evocative!
Very sad. It's like the night would never end. Tomorrow is taking forever to break through
Worded so beautifully ✍️👌♦️♦️♦️♦️
