When All Seems Lost

Rain pounds hard upon my chest,

I stand at the edge peering below.

My life’s a mess where I failed the test,

I cry from above and hear only this echo.

There’s only me who can get out of this rut,

I stare at the water deep enough to drown.

I know it’s my fault, no I’s Ifs, or butts,

Is this my final mental breakdown?

A stranger from behind comes into view,

A figure alone, with their hood over their face,

I looked at them closer and they know what to do,

They sat me down and told me the world’s a wicked place.

However, my friend, there is help when it’s needed,

No matter how you feel, you will never be defeated.
