Lanterns and Gratitude
Cinquain Mirror on Halloween thoughts of Love and Loss

Season
Is Halloween
Lantern light quiet haunts
The living souls to gratitude
For love
.
For love
Remembering the ones who passed
the graves and death present
play trick and treat
Season
.
I have in this poem tried to create a Mirror Cinquain poem out of the theme of the coming Season and its core elements.
As a child we were allowed to hollow out a turnip and put a candle in it on Halloween night. It was hard work. But at night it was beautiful to look at and the smell of turnip getting roasted from within was magic. We were not allowed to do trick and treats, it had no tradition in Denmark in the 1970-ies.

You executed that Cinquain so brilliantly! I'm sorry you didn't get to trick or treat
love this poem, is amazing
Lovely! We seldom think of Halloween as a season of love, so this perspective was unique.
Very well done!
I really appreciated the form! Quite clever :) And the author's note was such a wonderful addition.
