Once I was a frozen lake.
The deepest parts of me hidden from view by a layer of blue-white ice.
Once I was a frozen lake.
People skated by me, uncaring about the danger beneath.
Once I was a frozen lake.
The ice cracking in the spring of my awakening.
Once I was a frozen lake.
The ice breaking beneath the weight of another person.
Now I am a clear blue lagoon.
With fresh water, sustaining life.
Now I am a blue lagoon.
Bright and clear, with purpose ahead.
Now I am a blue lagoon.
Those that skated on me lie beneath.
Now I am a blue lagoon.
Those that tested me, test no more.
