Lady Luminous

After dark

The moon so full and round

Sheds her cool alabaster light

On sparkling waters where swans sleep

Through leaves that rustle in gentle breezes

Caressing lovers bonded together

Giving light for families in backyards finishing late dinner

Or one final play on the trampoline

She makes the night mysterious with her glow creating shadows

As owls hoot and the barking of dogs echo into the stillness

I lie on the grass with my dad as we look and wonder in awe

At a sky filled with twinkling stars and shining planets

We talk to the man we see in her spherical face

Marvelling at the sight of clouds moving quickly past her

She rules the night with her purity and her ever changing ivory silhouette

About the Creator

Linda Bromley

Just one of many creative outlets for me has been books! My whole life I’ve loved them and it’s so easy to make the jump to writing.

Recently I completed a poetry challenge and now, looking for more excuses to write, I’ve found myself here!
