La playa

Poem

By Jazzy Published 2 years ago 1 min read

welcome to la playa, the beach

A place to be

Warm in the sand and salty sea

So many cars driving across silky white grains

Getting stuck and needing a tow

What a show

Floating in the murky waves

To and fro

I’m a drop in the ocean

In this vast expansive sea

Grains of sand

No bigger than I

Brought to my golden-kissed skin

And lost in my car

We are infinite, connected

These grains of sand

Fill the light inside me

La playa, the beach

Left her mark on me

**Husband and I at the Gulf for a day trip before his competition***

So much fun spending time at the beach. The next best is reading poetry about someone else's time there! 😊💕

    Beautiful poem and photo

  • Not me thinking la playa is a player and that your poem was gonna be about a boy who broke your heart, lol. Loved your poem and photo!
