Oh la lune,
ever present when I need you most
even in your partial glow, you stay
my heart: unrecognizable, puddled, cold
tonight, he placed it back in my hands and left
still, in your partial glow, you stay
your shadow cast on the wood floor–a blanket of dark comfort
I lay staring at the window between us,
the only other friend who knows the sounds of my heartache,
your light brushes my hand
a reminder of your constant presence
for even in your partial glow, you stay
in your stillness, your silence
an unwavering light in every phase
a lingering guide of warmth in the darkest of nights,
you stay.
