Kintsugi Mirror

poetry dedication to J.C.

Mirror mirror before me stand tall

Tell me how my words mean nothing at all

I stare you in agony screaming from the soul

Complaints of words in forms you think I don’t know

Oh yes, I know the dark to it’s truest form

I too was forced to weather the storm

In the moments of my last breathe, or what should have been

Multiple wing wearers in different faces stopped my sin

I watch the unresolved dissolution foam in your eyes

You ask questions with no answers that you despise

It’s like a self proclaimed victory to your darker side

What is there that is left? What is the point of it anymore?

I don’t have a crystal ball to tell you what’s in store

All I can do is warm up gold in hopes it can soothe your heart

Like Kintsugi art when something has broken apart

I see you like a lucid dream from another life

Filled with elderly angry strife

What can I do to ease your pain from the Hades realm you sit

Hecate a woman of many lights that crosses thresholds of both worlds

I can attempt to be that light, like Florence Nightingale

In hopes I can show you the sunlight, with hopes I don’t fail

Yes, I found a purpose and age is irrelevant to when you do

Purpose in all of us changes endlessly that includes for you

I catch your tears with my words and you think it is too much

I choose to sit here with you, I know my way around the dark

When my body was found, rescued and saved

I too lived with the anger and the rage

I continued to move forward always against my will

and then one day time finally stood still

I couldn’t tell you why it changed or what pushed me through

I realized knowing the dark as well as I do

Could help others navigate the tunnels they don’t see a way out

I can help build the exit signs and show them around and about

As I trim their darkness with signs etched in gold

Like a priceless Kintsugi art piece of the soul

Here’s a cheer to hoping, i know you don’t have hope yourself

I guess, I’ll do the hope for us both that you can find the help

This is one of your most powerful pieces yet. It’s like a poem, a confession and a lighthouse all at once. The “I guess, I’ll do the hope for us both” line hit hard. 💖

  • "I catch your tears with my words" That was my favourite line. Everyone deserves a person like this in their life. Loved your poem!
