Kindness In A Cruel World

Worthy of Good Things With No Conditions.

By Stephanie JarrellPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Under the aching

Beneath the bruising

I inhaled a sense of safety and exhaled the feeling of walking on eggshells.

My mind searched for reasons to keep my walls up, but my soul let out a sigh of relief.

Everything I said felt worthy of being heard.

Everything I was felt worthy of being known.

I felt worthy of good things, with no conditions.

The warmest place I’d ever been, even at a time that I felt so cold.

No longer convinced I was difficult to love and no longer foreign to what it’s like to feel beautiful.

Turns out, it’s possible for someone to love things about you that you don’t even love about yourself yet.

Kindness in a cruel world

A natural ability to guide anyone who was lost, in a better direction.

My tired eyes were offered a place to rest.

Aww this was so beautiful. Love can be so beautiful and can reinvent ourselves, if we find the right person to love us. Excellent poem.
