Kettle Genie

Not in their usual bottle

By Seashell Harpspring Published 3 years ago 1 min read

Boil boil little pot

The genie rises boiling hot

You have turned my home into the hottest tub,

So now I must rise and float above

The screaming spout

“But why are you not in a bottle?”

To ask why he was not following the motto.

“The kettle felt like a better place

Than the stinky bottle that had the smell of mace

My nose would rather sniff a trout.”

The perfume was sniffs of potent ,

So the boiler made him a new potion

That would be more of his taste

So the bottle was newly coated to not waste

The space for the genie to mount.

“Now you shall be granted one big wish, not several small wishes,

But because you helped I shall warn you of consequences.”

The genie told tales of regrets

Those who thought they wanted, but it ended with frets

With nothing to do but moan and shout.

“I wish no agony,

So I will ask a simple plea

To have a way to reset wishes that did go wrong

To reverse for those that realized they should have less all along

That way I can wish without a doubt.”

“I shall find a way they can set their lives back,

No one has wished for others, that’s a simple fact.”

When the genie presented those with the rare reverse,

They were joyous to stop what felt like a curse.

Ending the sorrow of all those who pout.
