Keeper of my Soul

You are the keeper of my soul.
You have guided me through hard times.
You have lead me away from temptation’s grasp.
When I needed you, you were there for me.
You saved my soul from damnation.
You kept me above water when I could not breathe.
I pray your love never dies.
I know with you I will never hear a lie.
For you may have died, but I know why.
For our sins, you laid down your life.
So we may enjoy Heaven on Earth.
For all that it is, and all that it’s worth.
Thank you, for saving us from our sins.
We know with you, we will always win.

FPS: The Last Flame Challenge Winners
Welcome to our first Winners Announcement of the year and to the final challenge in the Fall Poetry Series. The Last Flame invited writers to sit with endings, using fire as a central image to consider what remains when something burns out: ash, warmth, memory, silence, or the faint promise of what comes next. The strongest pieces treated endings as gradual rather than sudden, allowing them to flicker, dim, and linger.
