Keep Shining

You are the light at the end of the tunnel.

Keep shining.

There will be trains that use your tunnel every day

As a part of their daily routine.

Your tunnel provides them a passage of safety

A well-known passage of commute.

Keep shining.

Some trains will pass through giving you a friendly toot

Other trains will pass through in a hurry

Simply using your tunnel as a means to an end.

And some trains will take their time and enjoy the stillness for a while before coming out into your light.

Keep shining.

There are some trains who are out of control.

They bump the edges of your tunnel

They have little care for the tracks, or the complexity of your structure

They joyride through your tunnel with disregard.

Keep shining.

And then there are the train wrecks.

Those trains on a mission of destruction.

You see them headed for disaster and you shine brightly

In hopes of averting their misguided attempts at navigating your tunnel.

But then….

CRASH.

They hit the wall of your tunnel

Damaged, but still driveable.

Using your light to guide them out

They limp out of the tunnel without any attempt at clearing their debris.

And you watch as they build up steam and travel the same old tracks, day after day

Simply to go full steam ahead crashing into yet another train wreck just up ahead.

Keep shining anyway

You are the light that can never be extinguished.
