Keep My Heart Humble
Live sunny-side up, even when life is scrambled.
By Laurelton BlakePublished 4 years ago β’ 1 min read

Humility calms the heart.
Humans snap, crack β deservedly die,
Sins so unthinkable, one must fry.
Yet in a world governed without real hope,
Your promises, not mans, keep me afloat.
Trust in you, despite demise,
Your memory never fails,
My spirit you can revive.
Your sayings I read each day and pray,
Not for a reward or showy display.
Practicing peace, humility and calm,
To love my enemies, no need to bare arms.
Please keep my heart soft, so my blessings run easy,
Not obstinate like Pharaohs,
For the devil to deceive me.
Force me to patiently wait on you,
Refrain from exercising judgment, even when itβs due.
Give me courage, where I lack faith
To ward off all evil, repulse what you hate.
