Kaleidoscope, Black
A Blessing in Disguise

Shake
Rotate
Observe
Peer inside - distorted and torn
a mind that aches, consumed by scorn
Yet a slight adjustment in perspective
brings new light to my reflection
Because through this lens I now discern
that from broken pieces, beauty can occur

The imbalanced mind conspires to misfire
Still, this curse intertwines, a blessing in disguise
Unveiling a medley, of inspiration and desire
as even shattered glass, illuminates to harmonize

This illusion is captivating, intoxicating, even
with potential for delusion that demands continual question
Yet I still await the day I fully believe in
my relentless passion that yearns for expression
Though, I no longer fear the scatter and the shifting
as the constant upheaval keeps life interesting
What once overwhelmed and separated me
could have value and potential, beyond my reality

However,
I dread the days the color dissipates
when my will alone cannot motivate
The highs require a plummet to below
this is my truth, to forever know
My fire, the flame, cannot sustain
and the fade to black eases the strain

Thus, from chameleon I morph to ghost
a dazzling iridescent to translucent at-most
An empty void that’s seen right through
with no choice but, for now, to just make-do
These words I keep, my reminder, a phrase
Blue skies follow even the darkest of days

Because, you see
these “blank spaces” lie in wait [1]
until the moment my colors recalibrate
Ripe for “creativity and imagination to take flight” [1]
on a canvas primed, ready to saturate

...So be it
It's fated
I’ll weather the storm
...to view life, in beautiful form
