Just one night

What a difference one night can make

The somber peace when bells have rung

the lilted songs that angels sung

Seductive air that fills your lungs

The moments when two have been one

Like every other, morning came

It seems that things are not the same

Can't tell the difference between shame

And the need to cast off blame

Expeditiously retreat

Heavy is the weight of defeat

Hopeful for the next you meet,

With the last still on your plate

Chronically uncomfortable

Neurotic, misbehaved

All things that spell out trouble

Could turn me to a slave

Though controversial it may be

To lose sight of one's identity

The power of the siren's plea

Preys on masculinity

Jubilation and elation

Twist and warp a firm foundation

No desire to practice patience

We're sick and weak from gratification

About the Creator

Jack_of_None_

I'm just here to find out if I'm any good. I'm open to, and in fact looking for feedback.

I write about things I'm not brave enough to talk about, and love doing it.
