I come from the light, and colour is just it’s reflection.
We use it to characterize our darkest feelings of introspection.
Like when I'm feeling green with envy or blue from sadness,
Or when my knuckles go white and I'm turning red from the all madness,
That I see everywhere around me. Media’s got us socially divided.
A sphere of ignorance that’s somehow just one sided.
Privilege, rights and guilt have become colours on a canvas.
Temporary photo filters self fulfilling extravaganzas,
But it's simple.
I promise this.
Because we all come from the light.
We’re all just a reflection of the spectrum.
If we learn to appreciate the prism more than the prison,
Then we can finally start to paint ourselves a brighter vision.
Be proud when you wake up, no matter what colour you feel that day.
There will always be blue skies behind the ones that are painted grey.
We are the artist and the medium, unique in shape and form,
So keep looking for that rainbow after every weathered storm.
It’s Colour.
It’s just colour.
It’s the one thing we have in common, so stop letting it divide us.
Because if we want to feel true love,
Then love,
It has to come from inside us.
