Just a Thought
A Poem to Sort Through Life's Big Decisions

Just a thought.
The sound of my thoughts are more than I'd like to hear right now.
They never end, never cease. Constantly drawing my mind back into consciousness.
If for just one minute, even one second, I could escape,
Out run my mind as it chases behind. Letting my heart be free and my head unwind.
But then who would I be but another mindless fool?
Another face in the crowd, in this so clearly divided "united" nation.
It's not time to be just a face,
But finding my place isn't quite as easy as it seems.
So many decisions to make.
Who to be, where to go, how to live.
I've lost my manual, but there's beauty in this.
I write the how to's, the don't and must do's.
And I must live according to what I feel.
What inspires me, what I love, where I come alive.
But how do I decide?
Should faith be my guide?
Or do I dip my toes in every ocean?
Try each on until one fits just right.
It's likely my mind will never stop wandering,
But the more I ponder, the less I run from, and the more I like.
