Just a Little Taste

Take me from this reality and make it as sparkling as a diamond.

By Paul CrockerPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Wake me from my slumber with a jolt start.

An idea to stimulate my mind and a new love to freshen my heart.

Something's coming straight at me at hurtling speed.

It won't kill me, won't even make me bleed.

Take me from this reality and make it as sparkling as a diamond.

Plenty of magic moments and all the time to find them.

If life is for living, then let's make haste.

I don't want it all, just a little taste.

The moon glows and it ignites my own night light.

Because I'm overwhelmed by the purified sight.

You won't find me in the room even though my body remains.

I'll be dancing to the beat of the thundering rain.

Cleansing me from the daily clutter.

Ending up as all water does, in the gutter.

There's a new day to explore, so why stay still?

A blank canvas is excitingly asking to be filled.

I'm in a special time and place.

But it is only just a little taste.

Summer has left but winter isn't such a freeze.

There's fire in the trees and a crisp white snow to please.

So what are you particularly waiting for?

With so many rewarding aspects of life to adore.

I think I'd rather float by than zoom along.

I won't be singing because I will be the song.

This is where I feel safe.

But unfortunately, it is just a little taste.
