Jump.

When he asks, "Does the height scare you?"

When you asked me to jump

I forgot the concept of falling.

.

"What goes up,

Must come down."

.

The cliffs from which I fell, watched

As the waves came, rolling.

.

"All is fair,

In Love and War."

.

These were the words I murmured

When the sea became choking.

.

.

An Insight:

Whilst writing this poem, it occurred to me that I don't think I have ever fallen for someone without first thinking how this could end... Countless times I am proven wrong in the throws of dating, but the alternative is never jumping. And a life without that thrill before the fall would render most poets contentless.

I guess all hopeless romantics are adrenaline junkies in that sense.

Living for the thrill.

Regardless of the fall.
