JOSIE:

eulogy

By Victor MendezPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

This is about my sister who passed away on 2-24-2020. She was only 54 so the other poem titled "CONFUSION" relates to this though it may not be allowed cuz of religious content though it has nothing to do with religion, really..

2-25-2020

I will go to the house upon the hill,

Pay my respects..

As many others will.

I will pray for the words to say,

Other than just..

"It'll be okay"!

...as I know it will,

But still,

...the pain persists..

......insists..

On being acknowledged.

Together,

we will lift it to the light of day,

in time go away..but..

the laughter and joy,

one of Karina's little toys,

will bounce off the walls..because..

well, cuz memories don't die.

So the giggles,

the laughter that lit up the rooms,

Echoes we'll never forget,

For as long as the stars dance..

and the memories are longer than that..

like when you were crouched on a chair at mom and dads

kitchen looking down at a cockroach in a mexican standoff to see who would move first..so..

I stepped on it for you so I could say..

Goodnight Little Sister.
