Johnno

A little life

By Annette BillettPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Johnno was a little boy

He loved to laugh and joke

He had the biggest smile that you had ever seen

Yellow was his colour, the jaundice made him so

Johnno was a strong boy

He never asked why me?

He was strong though all the hard times, smiling all the time

He radiated sunshine and passed it on to all

Johnno was a scarred boy

He liked to trick new friends

Holding up his shirt "look this is where the shark bit me!"

The operation left his tummy criss-crossed with scars

Johnno was a sick boy

The first transplant didn't work

Orange was his colour now, he needed a new liver

He had the operation, they tried to make it work

Johnno tried so hard

They needed something more

They looked everywhere for that magic wand

Johnno knew they could not find it

Johnno kept on smiling

Right up to the end

He left so many memories for his Dad and all his friends

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever
