It Takes Two

Poem #80

By John MarkhamPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

A single word is not a rhyme.

A single hand cannot tell time.

One hand alone can’t make a clap,

And just one finger doesn’t snap.

One eye alone cannot see depth.

Right’s not right without a left.

You only limp with just one shoe.

To walk or dance, it takes two.

And music’s just a simple sound,

Unless a listener’s around.

A message sent is empty text,

Unless there’s one who reads it next.

Two hearts together make for bliss,

When two together seal a kiss.

You hope and dream to be a pair.

Love isn’t love until it’s shared.
